After the immense success of Earth Walks in places like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Pangot, Asian Adventures, in collaboration with Global Wildlife Fair, started the walks every month in Ahmedabad. The first walk was led by Santosh Yadav, who talked about the biodiversity that exists in the botanical gardens. The garden may seem like an ordinary park, but it is actually an amalgamation of different varieties of plants, such as oriental plants or shrubs, plants possessing medicinal properties, succulents and xerophytes, grasses and ground covers, and seasonal and flowering plants.

As the walk unfolded, the people visited and saw each type of these plants and what effect they have on the area. The botanical garden is popularly known as the living classroom because of the variety of trees that are found there. What actually made the experience even more enriching was the calm environment of the garden, which provided a fully immersive experience to understand how human interaction shapes the stories that form the background of these trees. The inter-dependency that humans have on trees and vice versa was also discussed, bringing out the importance of ecological balance.
It was further understood how plants act as the bio-indicator of the health of a place, making places like the botanical garden living laboratories. Here, one can witness the concepts of conservation, education and biodiversity awareness live in action. The phenomenon of pollination was also understood, highlighting the importance of the botanical garden in supporting it and maintaining the rich flora and fauna of the semi-arid region of Ahmedabad. Towards the end of the walk, the people were beaming with questions regarding the relationship between humans and nature, and the purpose for which specific plants present there are used.
How the sprinklers and other mechanisms work. These were answered by the walk leader. The first walk in Ahmedabad was well received by the participants, with the anticipation of gaining more knowledge on upcoming walks. Even you can be a part of this creative yet knowledgeable venture where one explores the usually overlooked side of nature.
