Step into the fascinating world of butterflies with “Decoding Butterflies”, a two-hour Earth Walk at the Eco Park Butterfly Garden, Kolkata. Led by naturalist Tirthankar Chowdhury, this engaging experience offers participants an opportunity to observe butterflies closely while learning about their identification, behaviour, life cycles, habitats, and ecological importance.
The walk is designed to help participants look beyond the beauty of butterflies and understand their role in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Through guided observation and interpretation, participants will learn practical techniques for identifying butterflies and recognising their unique characteristics.
Whether you are a beginner, nature enthusiast, student, photographer, family, or experienced butterfly watcher, this walk offers a meaningful way to connect with nature and develop a deeper appreciation for butterfly diversity and urban biodiversity.
Note for Participants
Please note that participants will need to bear an additional ₹200 per person for the Butterfly Lab and associated facility charges. This amount is not included in the Earth Walk registration fee.
Participants are requested to carry the required amount to ensure a smooth, hassle-free experience.

Weather Condition
Late September in Kolkata can be warm and humid, with occasional showers possible. Participants are advised to wear comfortable, light clothing and walking shoes. Carry a reusable water bottle, cap, and rain protection if required.
