Walk Theme: Spring Paints Pangot in Songs and Colours
The trek from Jungle Lore Birding Lodge to Tigra Baba is suitable for both beginners and experts and offers one of the most panoramic views, along with being home to a myriad of species. It is the combination of these factors and the fitness of factors that Asian Adventures, along with the Global Wildlife Fair, had organised an Earth Walk from Jungle Lore Birding Lodge to Tigra Baba. All the participants met at the designated time and started the walk. First, the walk leader explained that birdwatching is an art in itself. One needs to practice patience, mostly in order to learn it. He then shared his experience of how, he even has to be seated for hours to get the perfect shot of a bird.

It was then that a gray-headed canary flycatcher was seen sitting peacefully on a branch, providing a perfect opportunity for the birdwatchers and photographers to capture it. Further, as the walk continued, the participants started inquiring about the best birding season in Pangot and what the best equipment is for birding; some even enquired about the popular resident and migratory birds that are found in the region. All these questions were answered by the walk leader one by one. The next sighting of the day became a beautiful ultramarine flycatcher. It was camouflaged perfectly, hence making it a little difficult to trace the bird. Yet the sharp eye of one participant caught something moving within the bushes, and on minute observation, the bird was traced.

As the group started reaching closer towards the destination, the chirping of the birds increased too, making it almost impossible to trace the sounds of which all birds could be heard. The Merlin app then came to the rescue, where it recorded the sounds of the birds and, one by one, the app deciphered which bird it was. Even becoming an essential tool in the management of records for the birds that exist in the region. Towards the end of the walk, a long-tailed broadbill was spotted, making it a perfect end to the refreshing birdwatching trail.
Overall, the walk was a huge success, and the participants were looking forward to more such opportunities. You can even make your Sundays memorable by being a part of Earth Walks.
