The best way to connect with nature is to be a part of it. Keeping up with the same idea, Asian Adventures, along with Global Wildlife Fare, had organised a weekly Earth Walk to trace the birds that visit Sunder Nursery. The team, along with a bunch of enthusiastic birdwatchers, met at the decided location with their binoculars and cameras to witness and capture the beauty of the avian paradise. Pawan Pal, an expert in the field, led the walk. The sunny morning of 23rd November, 2025, added to the perfect environment for the activity to take place.

The walk started with Pawan explaining the basics of bird watching, where the best way to locate a bird is in silence. It is the patience and silence that act as the most important tools to locate and understand the behaviour patterns of the birds. It was then that the group located a red-vented bulbul. Further, as the walk continued, people shared their experiences of how bird watching has been more than just a passion and leisure activity for them, but a way to capture and understand the ecosystem of which we are a part. They even shared how they have travelled to different places all over the country just to witness the beauty of birds.

The white - breasted waterhen was the next bird to be spotted, and with this, the guide told the basics of identification of birds. What might seem “that's just a bird” for the common crowd basically belongs to myriad families and classes, and venturing into each is a fun activity in itself. This brought out the importance of research about birds, as some prior information is a must in knowing what kind and type of birds one can encounter on the trail they are taking. Red-whiskered bulbul was the next to be seen, and thereafter the spotting of Common Moorhen, Rose-ringed Parakeet and White-throated Kingfisher added to the visual treat.

It was then explained to the crowd how to trace a bird via the source of sound. The bird could be up in the tree or hidden among the bushes. Following this stratagem, the group was able to trace Black Kite, Rufous Treepie and Yellow-footed green pigeon. Pawan then threw light on the habitats and the migratory patterns of the birds, also specifying their routes and seasons for migration. It was towards the end of the trail that the group was also able to trace the Indian Grey Hornbill. The walk turned out to be a huge success. The participants enhanced their knowledge of birds and their behavioural patterns. These walks by Asian Adventures and Global Wildlife Fare are a combination of fun activity and conscious responsibility, creating a link between fauna and mankind.
