The arrival of Spring marks the season of renewal and rebirth. During spring, when the Himalayan biodiversity is at its peak, Asian Adventures and the Global Wildlife Fair organised an Earth Walk from Jungle Lore Birding Lodge to showcase Pangot in full bloom, a birding paradise. The enthusiastic participants met at the designated location with binoculars and cameras to record the species they were expecting to encounter on the trail. The interactive nature and the walk leader's knowledge were an absolute gem for understanding the trail path and the region better. As the walk started, the group was lucky enough to encounter a chestnut-crowned laughingthrush sitting on one of the side rocks. The participants did not miss the opportunity and captured the bird in its element and in perfect shots.

Further, the discussion of the walk shifted to how climate change can affect the biodiversity in Pangot. Since the country is to experience one of the harshest summers this year, the flora and fauna are bound to be affected too. This conversation was interrupted by the sound of a gray-headed canary-flycatcher, which hid in the bushes. The participants had to wait for a few minutes before it could emerge from it, and its pictures could be captured by the rest. The focus then shifted to the importance of the local waterways that exist in the region. These act as the lifesavers in the warmer seasons and play a crucial role in supporting the biodiversity of Pangot. After spotting a Rufous-bellied woodpecker, the group took a brief break to witness the panoramic views that surrounded them.

Next in the trail, a Gray bushchat had perfectly balanced itself on the twigs and gave a picture-perfect opportunity to the nature enthusiast and the photographers alike. After taking pictures of the birds and discussing their behavioural and migratory patterns during the spring and the upcoming summer season, the walk ended. It was a success, as the participants enjoyed the trail and got to learn more about the surrounding habitat. They enquired about the further details, such as the upcoming walks and the concept of Earth Walks. You can even be a part of these initiatives and enhance your Sundays with Earth Walks.
