One of the best times for birding in Parimal Garden is early morning. To capture the early morning beauty of this urban biodiversity spot and to witness the best of avian species, Asian Adventures, along with the Global Wildlife Fair and Gujarat Tourism, had organised an Earth Walk in the Parimal Garden. The clear skies on the Sunday morning acted as the perfect backdrop for the birdwatching trail. The participants met at the designated time, and the walk leader then described the importance of such biodiversity gems in urban spaces. These not only act as a green area in the concrete jungle but also abode of myriad species, whether it is avian or herpofaunal in nature.

The participants analysed the surroundings, and many even agreed that the fast-paced daily life does not allow them to witness the surrounding beauty. The walk then proceeded, with an ashy prinia as the first sighting of the day, and the walk leader shared information about the various precious plants and trees present in the park. He showed the various plants that act as host plants for butterflies. On minute observation, the caterpillars were even on some plants. The medicinal importance of some plants and how we can implement them in our day-to-day lives to improve our immunity against diseases.

The next sighting of the day became the Purple Sunbird. It was hidden amongst the bushes, and the participants had to wait for a while for it to emerge from the bushes, which it did eventually after 10 minutes, and the participants clicked pictures, learning the art of patience in birdwatching. Further, as the participants were exploring the different corners of the garden, a mongoose quickly crossed in front of them. Species such as the Common Jay Butterfly and the Red-eared slider were also seen on the walk. Overall, the walk was a huge success, where the participants got to witness the species that were available in such close vicinity, yet they were unaware of them before the walk. They were interested in knowing more about the upcoming edition of the Global Wildlife Fair. You can even make your Sundays productive and add a natural element to them while being a part of Earth Walks. To join the next Earth Walk, click here https://asianadventures.info/p/af0725/
