It was in this fitness of things that, when Theo’s family wanted to celebrate his birthday in the most extraordinary way possible and chose a walk with Asian Adventures and the Global Wildlife Fair, it was natural that this location had to be the one.
The walk started by welcoming the young minds and their parents from countries like Greece and France, along with his Indian friends. Anticipating a full day of an excursion and discoveries, the children were filled with excitement. The walk started with the walk leaders urging the kids to observe what was around them and trying to make them understand that these are not ordinary rocks, but they give glimpses of what the prehistoric Aravallis would have looked like. After keenly listening to the information that was given by them, the children were amazed to see the petroglyphs of the Kot Village. These comprised various cupules, graffiti marks, and imprints of humans, animals, and at places they even saw the fish footprints, which date back to the Palaeolithic age. The next thing that caught their attention was the stone tools and rock art that were to be found there.
These tools were mainly made from Quartzite and depicted how the regular activities of early human life were shaped. It was not only a face-to-face encounter with history but also an adventure which they would remember for life. The highlight of the walk was when one of them became excited, spotting an ant mantis, and another precious moment was when a child could recognise a vulture flying high in the sky. The overall excursion ended on a very high note, with the parents looking to plan more such engaging experiences with us.
