Join us on the morning of December 7, 2025 (8:30 AM–10:30 AM) for Pangot Earth Walks: Kumaun Birds & Butterflies Walk. Led by naturalist Jagjeevan Singh Dhami, this two-hour guided experience takes you through the lush forests around Jungle Lore Birding Lodge—one of Kumaon’s most celebrated nature destinations.
As the morning light spreads across the cool Himalayan slopes, spot a delightful mix of Kumauni bird species, active winter visitors, and a charming variety of Himalayan butterflies. From vibrant forest birds flitting between oak branches to sun-loving butterflies gathering nectar along mossy trails, this walk promises both visual and sensory wonder.
Getting There
Pangot is located near Nainital, Uttarakhand, and is well-known for its dense oak and pine forests.
By Car: Pangot is approximately 45–60 minutes from Nainital by road. Parking is available around the Jungle Lore Birding Lodge.
By Bus: Take a bus to Nainital, then hire a taxi to Pangot.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Kathgodam (approx. 50–60 km). Taxis are available from the station.
Weather Conditions
