Join us for a refreshing morning trek through the beautiful forest trails of Pangot, one of the Kumaon Himalaya’s most loved nature and birding destinations. Pangot Trails: Trekking from Kilbury Nursery to Dak Bungalow is a relaxed, guided nature walk designed for beginners, families, and nature enthusiasts who wish to explore the Himalayan landscape at an easy and enjoyable pace.

Led by naturalist Kundan Kumar, the walk takes you from Kilbury Nursery towards the historic Dak Bungalow, passing through oak and pine forests rich in birdlife. Along the way, participants will observe common Himalayan forest birds, learn about their behaviour and habitats, and understand the ecological importance of these mountain forests.

Getting There

 

Pangot is located near Nainital, Uttarakhand, and is well-known for its dense oak and pine forests.

• By Car: Pangot is approximately 45–60 minutes from Nainital by road. Parking is available around Jungle Lore Birding Lodge.
• By Bus: Take a bus to Nainital, then hire a taxi to Pangot.
• By Train: The nearest railway station is Kathgodam (approx. 50–60 km). Taxis are available from the station.

Weather Conditions
